My Story
Since the age of 6 I had experience with therapy. There was a lot of chaos to navigate and luckily my parents had the wherewithal to put us into therapy. As I entered my 20s, the chaos continued. It often felt like I was constantly putting out emotional fires, believing that the cause of my distress was external factors.
I found myself caught in a cycle, always trying to fix something in the hope that it would bring me peace and happiness. I was the classic case of, “I’ll be happy when …” but the sense of fulfillment I craved always seemed just out of reach.
Around my 30th birthday, I had hit a breaking point. I hit what I like to call my emotional, spiritual, and mental rock bottom. On paper I had it all. But inside, I was a mess. I finally hit a point where I couldn’t keep stomping out the fires because the flames encapsulated my whole being. I was the definition of unwell.
I truly couldn’t understand how I had gotten here doing “all the right things” society had told me to do.
Having gone to therapy for several years, I already had so much awareness of what my “issues” stemmed from but somehow awareness wasn’t quite enough anymore.
Several doctors PUSHED medications for my anxiety and depression but my intuition told me to seek other options.
I started reaching out to anyone I knew who had been through dark times to understand on how to navigate my own struggles. As I started having conversations, I learned about other modalities and I felt a sense of peace rush over me. However, that peace was short lived by a sense of dread. The vastness of available methods overwhelmed me.
Each person I spoke to had found solace in different ways, adding to my confusion. How could I possibly find my own path when every person seemed to have a unique solution? The enormity of this left me feeling paralyzed.
I decided to explore every modality available, hoping that one of them might offer me the relief I so desperately needed. I began transmuting my anxiety and depression into curiosity. Over the next three years I spent most of my time on this quest while maintaining my career.
I worked with coaches to learn about my patterns and mindset. I dove deep with plant medicines to break through generational trauma, programming, and belief systems. I attended retreats to cut out the noise of the outside world. I adopted the practices of meditation and breath work to allow my nervous system to reset. I worked with naturopathic and functional medicine practitioners to learn about the body and how connected it was to my mental health.
I came to finally understand its not just the mind that needs to heal, but also the body, and the soul.
There were many ups and downs on this journey and I learned so much through the process. My main takeaway is that we are so unique and therefore we all have our own path. No one outside of us has the answers for us and the best healers will simply guide you back to yourself. As my mother said to me when I was young, “everyone has their own truth they must stand in, the trick of life is to find what yours is and stand in it”. Through my own journey inward, I birthed the idea of Conscious Concierge. A service that is an unbiased and knowledgable place to learn and find which modality can work for you. A supportive service that accompanies you throughout your journey, adapting as you explore different ways to heal and grow.
